As I mentioned on Facebook, last Friday and Saturday I participated in the Empowering Women’s Conference in Boise Idaho. This is an event that showcases 50 or so businesses either run or owned by women. AND there are 20 different professional developments classes to choose from to attend.
To be in a room full of motivated, positive and compassionate women was so powerful that I became giddy. This environment filled me with so much happiness and energy that I couldn’t sit still. I couldn’t decide who I wanted to visit or which class I wanted to attend. In fact, one woman said to me in the middle of a large group of people “You are a child in an adult body.” (She might have said that because I was hitting a balloon at a 12 year old. But nonetheless…) Is that statement a compliment? Let’s think about it. Have you ever sat around and watched children? Watch them on the play ground – running, jumping, sliding with no fear, no worries, no stress. Watch them make friends and enemies and think nothing of it 5 minutes later. Watch the amount of time they laugh in a day. Studies have shown that children laugh 250 times a day and adults laugh 10. That’s just not right. I think we should all commit to laughing each and every day. Life does NOT have to be so serious. Can’t we all just lighten up a bit?
Imagine a world where people laugh instead of yell. Wave instead of honk. Smile instead of sigh. That, to me, is heaven.
Z-Tip: Laugh like a child – it’s good for you. I’m serious!!!!
